Latina Professionals of Chattanooga First Annual Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month Celebration
Starting September 15, 2022, we will host our first annual Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month celebration events to celebrate the Hispanic/Latinx culture and contributions to our local community and nation. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th, coinciding with the date of the independence of several Latin American countries, through October 15th.
This year's Hispanic Heritage Month theme is Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation. To demonstrate that together we're a stronger community, we will be hosting several events in September and October at different venues around the Chattanooga Valley and Dalton, GA area. Each event will feature local Latino music, food, and special guests discussing their experiences and sharing their stories.
We are proud to dedicate this celebration to our city's rich and diverse Hispanic/Latinx culture and heritage. And we hope that with this list of events you'll discover something new about our Hispanic/Latinx history and connect with people worldwide and locally.
Update: as of August 1, 2022, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported a nationwide surge in COVID-19 omicron subvariant BA.5. As of Monday, the area's high-risk counties include Bradley, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, McMinn, Meigs, Polk and Rhea counties in Tennessee, Chattooga and Gordon counties in Georgia and DeKalb and Jackson counties in Alabama. We continue to monitor the COVID numbers as we get closer to our events and updates will be provided on our decision to continue hosting these events in person or host them online.
